RTA's 28 Taxi Service Innovations Elevate Dubai's Transportation Standards in 2025

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has implemented 28 development initiatives in 2025 to significantly improve taxi services, focusing on passenger comfort, driver welfare, and technological innovation.

The RTA has made substantial progress in transforming taxi services, with a remarkable 89.8% completion rate of planned initiatives by the end of the third quarter of 2025. These improvements are part of the authority’s strategic vision to enhance mobility and support Dubai’s Smart City objectives.

Adel Shakri, Director of Planning and Business Development at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, highlighted key developments that include:

  • Deployment of advanced technologies for real-time in-vehicle air quality monitoring
  • Enhanced operational monitoring systems
  • Upgraded driver uniforms with weather-adaptive fabrics
  • Annual incentive programs for drivers and franchise companies worth over AED 8 million
  • Replacement of taxi seat fabrics with leather upholstery
  • Implementation of comprehensive trip evaluation and monitoring systems
  • Introduction of air fresheners to improve passenger experience
