Dubai Launches Drone Delivery Route in Nad Al Sheba | Smart Logistics

Dubai has officially launched a new drone delivery route connecting Avenue Mall restaurants to Nad Al Sheba residents, marking a significant expansion of the emirate’s smart transportation ecosystem. The service, operating through a collection point at Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque, represents a collaborative effort between the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, and Keeta Drone.

In a move that reinforces Dubai’s position as a global hub for advanced logistics innovation, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority has launched a new drone delivery service in the Nad Al Sheba area on October 27, 2025. The route enables fast, contactless, and eco-friendly food delivery from Avenue Mall’s restaurants and cafés to residential areas, with orders collected at Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque.

Mohammed Abdullah Linjawy, Director General of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, officially inaugurated the route with the first delivery by drone.

“This initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to embracing innovative technologies that enhance daily life. By enabling smart delivery lanes, we are helping build a sustainable, technology-driven future for Dubai,”

he stated.

The collaboration brings together key stakeholders from both public and private sectors. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, emphasized the significance of the partnership:

“This collaboration marks a significant step forward in integrating the public and private sectors to support Dubai’s smart transformation goals. Selecting the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque as the starting point showcases a forward-thinking vision for the role of mosques in fostering sustainable communities.”

Keeta Drone, the technology provider, currently operates four routes in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The Nad Al Sheba route represents a major expansion of the company’s commercial operations across Dubai. Junwei Yang, General Manager of Keeta Drone, remarked:

“This achievement marks the beginning of our commercial operations and the expansion of our drone delivery route network across Dubai. This route not only represents technological advancement, but also Dubai’s vision of creating smarter, faster and more sustainable cities.”

The initiative operates under the strict regulatory framework of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, demonstrating how public-private partnerships can transform urban logistics while maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards. The service delivers packages through a contactless method, reducing direct human interaction and supporting sustainability goals through reduced carbon emissions compared to traditional delivery methods.

The launch was attended by senior officials including Bader Buhannad, Director General of Dubai Silicon Oasis, and representatives from Dubai Municipality. This expansion aligns with Dubai’s broader smart city strategy and complements existing initiatives like the Dubai Taxi Company’s partnership with Keeta for last-mile delivery services, which aims to deploy 500 motorbikes by year-end.

The service comes as Dubai continues to position itself as a leader in smart transportation and logistics technology, building on the emirate’s track record of innovation in urban mobility and digital transformation.
