Dubai Health Deploys 1,900 Staff and Field Hospital for NYE 2026 Celebrations

Dubai’s healthcare system is fully prepared for the New Year 2026 festivities with extensive medical infrastructure positioned across key celebration zones. Khalifa Baqer, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Health, confirmed the comprehensive deployment on December 26, 2025.

The medical response includes 1,900 personnel from medical, nursing, administrative, and support teams ready for rapid emergency intervention. A standout feature of the plan is the fully equipped field hospital established at Burj Khalifa, which includes 10 treatment rooms and a dedicated paediatric care section—ensuring specialized care for children during peak celebration hours.

The healthcare network extends across the city with six hospitals and four outpatient clinics operating 24/7, supported by 20 dedicated medical transport vehicles to move patients efficiently between facilities. Seven additional medical points staffed with specialized doctors and nurses have been positioned across major gathering areas in collaboration with Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

“Our focus is on swift response and comprehensive coverage,” the COO stated, emphasizing the system’s readiness for any medical eventuality during the celebrations. The plan accounts for the massive anticipated crowds across 48 fireworks displays scheduled at 40 locations throughout Dubai.

Continuity of care remains a priority, with home healthcare services—including telemedicine, medication delivery, and home visits—continuing uninterrupted. Residents requiring assistance can contact the Dubai Health call centre at 80060.

The medical deployment is part of a broader multi-agency NYE 2026 operation. As part of the larger security and safety framework, nearly 10,000 law enforcement officers have been deployed across the emirate to manage traffic and crowds, while the Dubai Metro will operate non-stop for 43 hours to facilitate transportation.

This coordinated healthcare and safety effort reflects Dubai’s systematic approach to hosting major public events, ensuring that medical readiness matches the scale of celebrations expected to draw millions of visitors and residents across the city.
