The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in partnership with Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects, has completed the upgrade of the bridge leading to Terminal 1 at DXB, one of the world’s busiest airports. The expansion increases the bridge’s capacity from 4,200 vehicles per hour to 5,600 vehicles per hour—a significant 33% boost designed to tackle congestion particularly during peak travel periods.
The project reflects RTA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing Dubai’s aviation infrastructure and supporting the airport’s growing passenger volumes. As UAE infrastructure continues to expand, airport connectivity remains a priority to strengthen Dubai’s position as a leading global air travel hub.
The RTA and Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects emphasized that the upgrade aims to improve traffic flow to the airport, enhance quality of life for residents and travelers, and maintain Dubai’s competitive advantage in global aviation.
This expansion is part of a broader RTA strategy to modernize Dubai’s transport infrastructure and reduce congestion across key routes, particularly those serving critical facilities like DXB.
