The gigantic complex with the theme parks in Dubai is called Dubai Parks and Resorts. There are currently three theme parks and one water park. Then there is a beautiful outdoor area called Riverland.
In the Emirate of Dubai, you will find numerous attractions that you can do as a tourist. But visiting amusement parks was not yet possible. That is why in 2012 the Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced that he would also have amusement parks built. Construction began as early as 2014 and the first Legoland Dubai amusement park was opened on October 31, 2016. The Bollywood Parks Dubai was opened on November 17th, 2016, and Motiongate Dubai on December 16th, 2016.

It is a very large area that belongs to Dubai Parks and Resorts. In principle, you can say that this is the outdoor area that can be visited free of charge. That means you don’t need a ticket there and you can visit the shops and restaurants. On January 10, 2017, the Legoland Water Park Dubai was added. More parks are to be added in the future and a visit is very interesting for families with children. There is now even the Lapita Hotel where you can stay overnight on the premises. So you only have a few meters to get there. This is certainly very practical for the visitors.
Legoland Dubai theme park
As already mentioned, the first amusement park that was opened at Dubai Parks and Resorts was Legoland Dubai. As a small child, you certainly played with the colorful Lego bricks. Now it is even possible to visit an amusement park where you can see around 15,000 different models made of Lego bricks. This includes a replica of the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa. Surely you can imagine that thousands of stones were needed there to build it. Furthermore, this is very complex and you can only marvel at it in Dubai. The park is built up in different areas with around 40 attractions that can be made.
Bollywood Parks Dubai amusement park
Tourists who want to feel like they are in India should visit the Bollywood Parks Dubai. The highlight there is certainly the Rajmahal Theater which is a replica of the famous Taj Mahal. This park is particularly beautiful and of course, there are many attractions for all ages. The Bollywood Boulevard where you can find numerous shops and restaurants has also been done very nicely. Then there are some interesting shows to watch. This theme park in Dubai also belongs to Dubai Parks and Resorts and is certainly one of the most spectacular.

Motiongate Dubai theme park entrance
A typical amusement park where you feel like you’re in Hollywood is Motiongate Dubai. The set-up was done very well there and if you have seen the famous films then it is always worth a visit. There are also various themed areas and attractions there. You can go there on a roller coaster or visit a show. There is definitely something for everyone there. For a visit, you should plan around a whole day per amusement park. We definitely recommend that you take this into account as the parks are very large. It is a good idea to stay at the Lapita Hotel.
Legoland Water Park Dubai
Then there is the Legoland Water Park Dubai which is also located on the premises of Dubai Parks and Resorts. It is always worth a visit, especially during the hot summer months. You can then cool off wonderfully in the numerous pools and slides. This water park is especially recommended for toddlers. You can try out 20 different attractions there and a visit is also a lot of fun. If you want to go on a trip to Dubai with the whole family, then you’ve come to the right place.
Riverland
The outdoor area of Dubai Parks and Resorts is called Riverland Dubai. As already mentioned, you don’t need a ticket there and it is possible to visit the shops and restaurants. If you want to go to an amusement park or water park then you need a ticket. The Boardwalk and India Gate have been done very nicely. Don’t miss the French Village or The Peninsula. Even if you don’t want to visit an amusement park, it is worth a visit there.
Lapita Hotel
The Lapita Hotel is located directly on the premises of Dubai Parks and Resorts, where you can spend the night with the whole family. An overnight stay is recommended if you want to stay for several days and look at the Dubai theme parks. As already mentioned, it is not possible to visit all of them in one day. Furthermore, the architecture there is in the Polynesian style which looks very spectacular. It is a large hotel with 504 rooms and also suites.

You need a ticket to visit the amusement parks. We recommend buying this in our ticket shop in advance of your trip to Dubai. So you don’t have to queue at the box office. The high season in Dubai is particularly high during the winter months. Then it can be that you have to wait a long time there. If you already have the ticket you can go straight in and save yourself time.
Dubai Parks and Resorts is located very far from the city center. It takes around 30 minutes by car from Dubai Marina. There are partially free shuttle buses that you can use as a tourist. But there you are always bound to certain travel times. Of course, you can also take a taxi there. There is not yet a stop on the Dubai Metro there. This must first be extended.
As befits the Emirate of Dubai, more amusement parks and water parks are already under construction. This means that these will then be opened in the next few years. The area of Dubai Parks and Resorts is already so large that you need several days for a visit. The Outlet Village Dubai and IMG Worlds of Adventure are also nearby. Incidentally, this is the largest indoor amusement park in the world. Thus, this region of Dubai is very interesting and a visit is always recommended.
