One of the largest green spaces in Dubai is in Safa Park. There you can relax wonderfully from the metropolis in a beautiful green oasis that you should visit once.
Dubai Safa Park
As a rule, most tourists think that there is only a desert in Dubai. But of course, that is not the case and you will find exactly the opposite there, for example in Safa Park. This is particularly suitable if you are looking for peace and quiet from the many skyscrapers and shopping malls. Furthermore, it is one of the largest parks in Dubai with an area of 64 hectares and is practically in the middle of the city. This is a great place for the whole family to visit. You will also find wonderful barbecue areas there and these are always well attended, especially on weekends. By the way, there are many playgrounds for the children and they are sure to have a lot of fun there. In this post, you can find out everything about the park if you want to see it.
First of all, you should know how to get to Safa Park and where exactly it is. The location is practically next to Sheikh Zayed Road and Business Bay is also close by. On the other side of the park is Al Wasl Road. For example, if you book the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, you can get there in no time. But it is best if you can take a taxi to get there. There is no Dubai Metro station nearby that you can use. But there are bus stops that you can use. If you have a rental car you can go there directly.
The park can also be reached via several bridges over Dubai Creek. This is for example the Dubai Water Canal Bridge, which is spectacularly illuminated at night. There is also a stop from the Dubai Ferry or the Dubai Water Taxi. There you just have to use the Safa Park Marine Transport Station. So the park is very easy to reach for tourists.
The Safa Park in Dubai
With such a beautifully landscaped park you have to pay admission, of course. You can certainly imagine that this has to be particularly cared for if everything should be green. But the entrance fees are very low and are only 3 dirhams per person and that is of course very low. Incidentally, infants under two years of age get free entry. Thus, this is also a great destination in Dubai for the whole family that everyone can certainly afford. There are of course many attractions in Dubai that are offered free of charge to tourists such as the Dubai Fountain. But of course, the city cannot offer everything for free for the holidaymakers.
The opening times of Safa Park are also very good and from Sunday to Wednesday, you can visit it between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. At the weekend you have a little more time from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. But there you have to expect significantly more visitors because the guest workers and locals would like to relax there. If you want some peace and quiet then you should rather go there during the week. But the nice thing is that you can go there every day.
Dubai Water Canal
First of all, of course, the focus is on relaxation and you will find plenty of shade under the numerous palm trees. These are particularly useful in the hot summer months. Then there are plenty of barbecue areas and you can grill out in the open with the whole family. Furthermore, the playgrounds are definitely a highlight and you can let the children let off steam there. The large green area is certainly very beautiful and you will be thrilled to see something like that there. There are even some areas with water where you can go around in a small boat. There you have to pay an additional fee again. But it’s definitely a lot of fun. The park is ideal for a walk in the evening or for joggers, even if it is not that warm anymore.
Safa Park is always worth a visit, especially on the weekend and, more precisely, on Friday. There is always a flea market and a market where you can buy fresh food. There are many residents who visit the park, especially for this reason. There are now more and more markets in the city that you can visit. This is certainly interesting for tourists to visit once. But as already mentioned, there are a lot more visitors on the weekend.
Since the Safa Park is very large, you definitely cannot explore everything on foot. This can be a problem, especially because of the heat. But there is a good option that can be used. For example, you can rent a bike and you can easily see the entire park with it. If you are a little lazy and don’t want to pedal then you can also use a shuttle bus which is very practical. So it is then no problem for visitors to explore the park.
