There have never been any water bodies in the country, so the UAE government had to solve this problem. This is how the Dubai Creek channel appeared.
The canal was constructed over a span of three years, swiftly transforming into an instant natural attraction. It is about 10 km long and divides the city into 2 parts – Deira and Bur – Dubai. After the 1950s, it was decided to seriously expand the canal. In connection with this, the city now has more than 4 blocks.
The UAE has 2 coasts, which have different borders. To one side lies the Persian Gulf, while on the other, the Omani Gulf stretches into the horizon. The Strait of Hormuz passes between them. Both of these gulfs are part of the Arabian Sea, which is part of the Indian Ocean.
Note. When you book a room that boasts a view of the bays, its description will typically state “ocean view”.
Closer to the 21st century, active construction of resort areas began. In the emirates, and directly on the coasts, many luxury hotels, water parks, and centers that teach diving have been built. The UAE government very wisely uses not only finances but also natural resources. The majority of freshwater is derived from the desalination of marine sources. The city has established watering systems for lawns and trees, which allows them not to dry out and always be green.

In the Persian Gulf, the bulk Palm Islands and the Mir archipelago were created. The latter includes about 300 islands with names corresponding to countries of the world. A small part remained at the disposal of the country for the development of the tourism business, and the rest was put up for sale so that each island would have its own owner. There are only water and air connections between the archipelago and the mainland, not counting the freshwater supply system.
In Dubai, one can observe a relatively tranquil sea, thanks in part to the presence of modern architectural marvels like the Palm Islands. To make the project possible, huge breakwaters were installed to hold back waves during storms. The water temperature, as in almost the entire country, is about +20°C. The velvet season is considered to be the time from October to May when the air and water warm up to optimal levels and there is no strong stuffiness. At this time there are always a lot of tourists on the coast. By the way, in the summer months, the water temperature reaches more than +30°C, so such swimming cannot be called comfortable.
About 30 different species of sharks actually live in the waters of the UAE. There is no need to be too scared about this, you need to be on the alert. Most of these large fish do not pose a threat to humans. The safety of vacationers is monitored by experienced rescuers who pay attention to the behavior of predators. If their activity is suspected, people are informed of the possible danger by displaying a red flag.
